Quebec is altering some guidelines in a program to make it simpler to rent girls within the so-called STEM fields: science, expertise, engineering and math.
Labour and Employment Minister Jean Boulet mentioned on Tuesday that ladies are nonetheless underrepresented in these sectors, making up about 20 per cent of the workforce, and have been for years.
To encourage hiring girls in these sectors, standards for the Quick-Time period Coaching Program for engineering and knowledge expertise internships shall be modified. Corporations will even be eligible for a $25,000 reimbursement for salaries, up from $20,000.
Additionally, mentors’ salaries could also be coated as much as $150 per hour.
Equally, mission promotion prices could also be reimbursed as much as 10 per cent of the price of the grant.
And coaching prices to combine good practices in girls’s integration might be reimbursed.
